Most agencies will not put a number on a page. We will. Making people ask before they can find anything out wastes everyone’s time and tends to attract exactly the wrong conversations.
Rates in Mykonos start at around €120 to €150 per hour and rise from there depending on the companion, the length of the booking, the time of year and how far we are travelling to reach you. This page explains how that actually works, what moves the number, and what is included, so that when you get a quote it makes sense rather than arriving out of nowhere.
How rates are structured
Hourly
The base unit, from €120 to €150 upwards. An hour works well in and around Mykonos Town, where travel time is minimal. Everywhere else on the island it is usually the wrong choice. Once the drive is counted, an hour is a very short visit for the money.
Evening and dinner bookings
Typically three to five hours, quoted as a block rather than as a stack of hourly units, and priced better per hour than a short booking. These need to be arranged earlier in the day, both for availability and because you will want a restaurant reservation.
Overnight
Quoted as a single figure for an agreed window, usually late evening through to the morning. Substantially better value per hour than any shorter booking, and the most common longer booking we take on this island. Mykonos nights run late enough that overnight is often simply the practical option.
Multi-day and travel
Arranged as a whole, priced as a whole, and the best value per hour of anything on this list. These need real notice, particularly in August, and they are agreed in detail before anything is confirmed.
What changes the price
Length of booking
The biggest single factor, and it works in your favour. Rates are not linear. A two-hour booking is not double a one-hour booking and an overnight is nowhere near twelve times an hour, because a fixed part of every booking does not change with the duration. Getting someone to you and back costs the same whether you book one hour or six.
Distance and travel time
Mykonos is small on a map and large in August. Chora, Ornos, Psarou and Platis Gialos are the accessible core. Elia, Kalafatis, Agrari and the north coast are genuinely far, particularly in the evening, and that travel is accounted for in the quote. It is not a hidden surcharge. It is part of the figure you are given before you agree.
Time of year
August is the peak of a fourteen-week season on an island that empties completely in winter. Demand is at its highest, availability at its lowest, and rates reflect that. May, June, September and October are calmer in every sense.
Two companions
Priced per companion, but the real constraint is availability rather than cost. Two people free for the same window at short notice in high season is difficult. Ask early and it is straightforward; ask on the night in August and the answer is often simply no.
What is included and what is not
Travel to your location
Included in the figure you are quoted. You are not asked to arrange or reimburse transport, and no travel cost appears afterwards.
The companion’s time
What you are paying for is time and company for an agreed period, at an agreed place. That is the whole of the arrangement. Anything else is a matter between consenting adults and is not something we price, itemise, advertise or discuss in writing.
What is agreed in advance and never changes
The rate, the duration, the location and the start time are settled before the booking is confirmed. Once agreed, that is what stands. Nothing is renegotiated at the door and nothing is added on arrival.
How a quote is actually produced
It is worth explaining, because a rate that arrives without explanation always looks arbitrary and a rate that is explained almost never does.
Four inputs go into every figure. The duration you have asked for, which sets the base. The area you are in, which sets how much travel is involved and therefore how much of the booking is spent on a road rather than with you. The date, because a Tuesday in June and a Saturday in mid-August are different markets. And which companions are genuinely free for that window, since rates vary between people.
What does not go into it is how expensive your hotel looks, how you asked, or what you appear able to afford. The quote for a given window and location is the quote. If you ask the same question twice on the same day you will get the same number both times, and that is deliberate.
This is also why we ask for the area before talking about price rather than after. A figure quoted without knowing where you are is a guess, and a guess that later turns into a different number at the door is exactly the behaviour this page exists to warn you about.
Paying
Payment is in cash, in euros, at the start of the booking. Bring the agreed amount. Cash machines in Mykonos in August have queues and daily limits, and a great many of them run empty by the evening in high season. Sorting this out during the day is a small piece of planning that saves a genuinely irritating problem later.
We do not take card payments and we do not request deposits or transfers for standard bookings. Anyone in this business asking you to send money in advance to secure a booking, particularly by transfer or gift card, is running a familiar scam. The only exception is a long multi-day arrangement, which is discussed directly and in detail rather than over a first message.
Why the cheapest quote on the island is usually the wrong one
Mykonos in August attracts a lot of opportunists. The pattern is consistent and easy to recognise once you have seen it: an unusually low advertised rate, photographs that do not match, a request for a deposit, and then either nobody arrives or the price changes on the doorstep.
The specific things worth being wary of are a quote well below the island’s going rate, any request for money before the booking, photographs that look like a stock catalogue rather than a person, and an unwillingness to confirm a straightforward detail like how long the journey to you will take. A real operation will answer that last question immediately, because it knows the roads.
Our rates sit where they sit because they cover a companion’s time, travel across a genuinely difficult island in the busiest weeks of the year, and the coordination behind that. They are not the lowest on the island and they are not meant to be.
Common questions
Are prices different in August?
Yes. August is the peak of a short season and rates are higher than in May, June, September or October. If your dates are flexible, September gives you close to August weather with better availability and calmer pricing.
Do you take cards?
No. Cash in euros at the start of the booking. Withdraw during the day rather than the evening. Machines run out and queues are long in high season.
Is there a deposit?
Not for standard bookings. If anyone in Mykonos asks you to transfer money before a booking to hold it, that is a scam and it is a common one in July and August. Long multi-day arrangements are the one exception and are discussed directly.
Why is a two-hour booking not double a one-hour booking?
Because part of what any booking costs is fixed. Getting a companion across the island and back does not double when the time doubles. Longer bookings are better value for exactly that reason, and on the far side of the island they are the only ones that really make sense.
What should make me suspicious of a quote?
A rate far below the island norm, a deposit request, photographs that do not match what you are told, vagueness about travel time, and any price that changes after you have agreed to it. Any one of those is enough to walk away from.
Is the rate different for a hotel and a villa?
Not because of the building. It differs because of where the building is. A hotel in Chora and a villa above Ornos are quoted similarly; a villa at Kalafatis is quoted with the drive accounted for. You will know the figure before you agree to anything.
Do longer stays get better rates?
Yes, substantially, and it is the most underused thing on this page. If you are on the island for a week, arranging that as one booking rather than as several separate evenings produces a better rate per hour than any other structure. It also removes the problem of trying to secure availability twice in August. These are agreed in detail in a direct conversation rather than over messages.
Is a quote valid for long?
For the date and window it was given for, yes. It does not move. It is not a standing rate for a different night, because availability and demand change from one evening to the next in high season. If your plans shift, ask again and you will get a straight answer for the new date.
Can I get a quote without committing?
Yes, and that is the normal way to start. Tell us the date, the window, the area and the duration, and you will get a real figure back. Nothing is booked until you say so.
