Escorts in Psarou and Platis Gialos
The south-west corner of Mykonos holds more of the island’s high-end accommodation than anywhere outside Chora, and a large share of the bookings we take. That corner means Psarou, Platis Gialos and the coast between them. It is close enough to town to be convenient, far enough to be private, and it is where most people who come to Mykonos for the beach clubs actually sleep.

The south-west beach strip
Ornos, Psarou and Platis Gialos sit in a row along the sheltered south-west coast, each in its own bay, each ten minutes from the next. Together they form the most developed and best-connected part of the island outside the town itself.
Practically, this is the easiest area on Mykonos to arrange a booking in after Chora. There is one main road down from the town, it is properly surfaced, and the hotels and villas here are used to a constant flow of arrivals. The one caveat is that same road in August between seven and eleven in the evening, which is discussed below.
Psarou
A small, sheltered, extremely well-known bay, and the most exclusive stretch of sand on the island. Nammos sits on it, which is why most people have heard of it. The beach club has been the island’s most photographed venue for two decades and it sets the tone for the whole bay.
Accommodation at Psarou is a mix of a handful of hotels on the bay itself and villas on the hillsides above it, most with views straight down onto the water. It is a compact area, which makes it easy to reach and easy to describe, and it is one of the few parts of Mykonos where saying “above Psarou” is genuinely enough to orient a driver.
Bookings here are common through the whole season. Because the bay is small and highly visible during the day, arrivals are handled with more than usual attention to timing and appearance. This is not a place where anything goes unnoticed, and being unremarkable is the entire objective.
Around Nammos
People frequently ask about bookings “near Nammos”, which in practice means Psarou. If your booking involves a table at the beach club, or an evening that begins there, treat it as a social booking rather than an outcall and arrange it as one. The setting matters, the dress matters, and the timing needs to be agreed rather than improvised. Bookings that begin at a beach club and continue at the villa afterwards are a normal shape here and work well when planned as a whole.
Platis Gialos
Longer, busier and less exclusive than Psarou, with a wide arc of sand, a strip of hotels directly behind it and the island’s main beach-boat departure point at one end. This is the most conventional resort area on Mykonos and it holds a great deal of accommodation across every price level.
It is also the gateway to the beaches further east. Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari and Elia are all reached from here, either by boat from the jetty or by the coast road. If you are staying at Platis Gialos, you are in the best-connected position on the south coast.
Bookings here are straightforward. The hotels are large, well-used to visitors, and mostly built with separate units and private terraces. The area is easy to reach at any hour and easy to describe, and the sheer volume of movement in and out of the resorts means an arrival attracts no attention whatever.
Getting to you in this area
From Chora, Psarou and Platis Gialos are ten to fifteen minutes outside high season and twenty-five to thirty-five in August between seven and eleven in the evening. The single road down from town is the constraint and there is no alternative route worth taking.
After about one in the morning it clears entirely and the journey drops back to its off-season time, which makes late bookings easier to arrange here than early-evening ones.
For villas above either bay, a dropped pin is worth far more than an address. The hillsides are dense with houses on narrow lanes, names are not signposted, and mapping applications routinely place things a few hundred metres from where they actually are. For the hotels, the property name and room number is enough.
Ornos, and where the strip begins
Ornos is the first of the three bays coming down from Chora and the closest to the town, which makes it the most convenient base on the south-west coast. The bay itself is shallow, sheltered and family-ish during the day; the hillsides above it are dense with villas, and the road down is the shortest of the three.
For bookings, Ornos behaves like a slightly easier version of Psarou. Everything on this page applies, with ten minutes knocked off the journey. It is also the area where short-notice bookings work best outside Chora itself, for the simple reason that it is close enough to town that the evening traffic has less distance in which to accumulate.
The one wrinkle is that “above Ornos” covers a lot of hillside, and the lanes up there are narrow, unlit and largely unnamed. A dropped pin matters as much here as anywhere on the island.
Discretion on a small stretch of coast
Psarou in particular is a compact bay that is watched constantly through the day. The beach clubs are photographed more than anywhere else in Greece, the people on that sand frequently know each other, and the whole area is exactly the sort of place where being unremarkable is the entire objective.
In practice that means arrivals are timed and dressed for the setting, which in this part of the island means smart resort clothing rather than anything that reads as an evening out in the town. It means bookings that involve a beach club are agreed in advance in every detail rather than improvised on the day. And it means the villa arrivals on the hillsides above the bays go to a gate, at a time, with a code, rather than someone standing on a lane looking at a phone.

Rates and timing
Rates start from around €120 to €150 per hour and are agreed in full before the booking is confirmed. This area sits in the accessible core of the island, so travel affects the quote much less than it does on the south-east coast or the north.
Two hours is the comfortable minimum here. An hour is possible but rarely sensible once the drive from town is counted, and longer bookings are proportionally better value because the travel component does not change with the duration. Overnights are common in the villas above both bays for exactly that reason.
On notice: outside July and August, same-day bookings in this area are routine. In August, aim for the day before, and considerably earlier than that for an overnight or two companions.
Common questions
Is Psarou the same as Platis Gialos?
No. They are two separate bays about ten minutes apart, with Ornos on the other side of Psarou. Psarou is small, sheltered and exclusive; Platis Gialos is longer, busier and more conventionally resort-like. Both are on the same road down from Chora.
How long does it take to reach me from Mykonos Town?
Ten to fifteen minutes in the quieter months, twenty-five to thirty-five in August in the early evening, and back to ten or fifteen after one in the morning. The road is the variable, not the distance.
Can we meet at a beach club rather than the villa?
Yes, and it is a common arrangement in this part of the island. Treat it as a social booking, agree the venue and timing in advance, and allow a longer window than you would for a straight outcall. What does not work is deciding on the spot.
Do you cover the villas on the hills above the bays?
Yes, and they are among the most frequent bookings we take. Send a dropped pin rather than the villa name and include the gate code if there is one. The hillside lanes above both bays are where addresses fail most reliably.
Is this area busier than Chora?
During the day, yes. The beach clubs draw enormous crowds through the afternoon. In the evening the balance flips and the town becomes the centre of everything. That is why bookings here are often easier to arrange late than early.
What about Ornos?
Ornos is the next bay round, closer to Chora, and works the same way for bookings. A mix of bay-side hotels and hillside villas, and the shortest journey of the three. Everything on this page applies there as well.
Can I book for an hour here?
You can, but it is rarely the sensible choice. Once the drive from town is counted, two hours is the shortest booking that makes a reasonable evening for either side. Chora is the only part of the island where an hour genuinely works.
